No forest for the trees

I know we have all heard the phrase on not being able to see the forest for the trees. Do you know why? When you look at the forest you are straining to see the big picture of things when in the journey through life you must first see the smaller puzzle pieces before the big picture becomes clear. Hence, you must see the trees individually as the small pieces of the of the puzzle and understand the meaning of each one as you place it in to your own puzzle picture. When we examine those small pieces we must make certain that we are content and confident in that piece that we will add. As each tree becomes more visible and we travel forth with diligence the forest will eventually form a most beautiful master piece that we have built for ourselves-that big picture that does finally allow us to see the forest BECAUSE of the trees.

Whispers in the Wind

Todays blog is a poem from my book Through the eyes of Life. Please read, you may find the words to your dearest friend.

I am the words whispered by the winds, I'm in every song you hear...
I am the hand that is holding yours, I'm the comfort in your fear...

I am shining in the beams of the sun, I'm floating by on every cloud...
I am your reason and your logic, I'm your silence when the world is loud...

I am that voice in your head, I'll be there to inspire...
I am your strength in need, I'll push you forward when you tire...

I am your shelter from the rain, I'm the warmth when it is cold...
I am in the scent of the flowers, I'm in the very stars you behold...

I'll celebrate your joys and dreams, I'll help you through your sorrows...
I was there in your yesterdays, I am here today, and I'll be in your tomorrows...

I am in the air that surrounds you, I am in the land as far as you can see...
I am there in your very heart and soul; just look around-I am everywhere when you need me.

Mirror, Mirror on the wall

AAH yes, the mirror on the wall. Well, I call it the looking glass and if looked in to properly it will shed so much light on us. It takes courage to stand before the looking glass, bare and raw-no mask-and ask that reflection some serious questions. It takes courage because what you will receive back from the looking glass is the truth and sometimes it takes much courage to deal with the truth. We have to be strong enough to ask what stares back at us if we are happy with who we REALLY are and the person we have become. We have to soil our hands in that garden growing within us and discuss facts and truths about ourself with ourself. That's right, only we hold the answers to who we are inside and whether or not we are content with that for if we feel we have failed in areas then that means we must take action to rectify. For some people having to take self action brings about fear but that is just another part of it. There is so much we can learn from ourselves, we know far more than we even realize. There are so many questions to ask that reflection and it will answer you honestly. But you must start the day with mirror, mirror on the wall...

P.S. My second book in the works is called The Looking Glass

my life in a novel of poetry

Hello to all, this is my first "go" at blogging so please bear with me in the beginning-i will catch on. I do want to say that my life can be summed up in my novel of poetry "Through the eyes of Life." I have compiled that book over many years and through various era's of my life so these words have followed me and told my story as I went along on this bountiful journey. It sums up my thoughts about our many roads traveled in life and how each must be weighed equally. It is my encouragement and inspiration from the first person point of view- the "I have been there." I wish to share my life and experiences in this novel of poetry with all. Visit me at my website http://pamscholes.com/  and my FB page filled with many different daily "feel good" words at pamela scholes. It has been a wonderful journey, wayward at times but who's isn't? Take a travel with me down these poetic trails.
